How-To Guide: Transforming Your Skin Routine as the Seasons Get Colder

As many of you know, I have an intense addiction to face masks. This summer I decided to try out a variety of pot masks based on what my skin was in need of – anti-acne, hydration, dullness, fine lines, etc.! Below you will find all of my holy grail face masks – enjoy!

The best way to apply to face masks: Start off by deeply cleansing your skin. My favorite way to do this is with an anti-bacterial cleanser and a cleansing system (such as the clarisonic). Afterwards, I immediately dry my skin by patting it dry with a soft towel. I like using a face mask brush to ensure an even application all over my face; using a brush also doesn’t create such a mess! Once the mask dries I gently rinse it off with warm water and then follow my regular skincare routine!

Acne & Blemishes

Glamglow Super Mud Clearning Treatment ($69)

If you have extremely oily skin then this mask is a must-have for you! It deeply penetrates into your pores and clears them while minimizing the appearance of acne and redness. If you have combination skin, I suggest trying out something that’s not as intense since this mask can be overly drying.

Peter Thomas Roth Therapeutic Sulfur Masque ($47)

When I found out that sulfur could be used to treat acne, I was immediately drawn to trying out this mask! I noticed a huge difference after using it twice a week (for two weeks): my acne had seriously declined and my pores were much cleaner. I’ve been using it ever since and the results have just kept getting better!

Sunday Riley Saturn Sulfure Acne Treatment Mask ($55)

Another amazing sulfur-based product. This mask is a bit more drying than the Peter Thomas Roth one, but I always notice an immediate difference in the size/redness of my breakouts after use!

Dry Skin

Peter Thomas Roth Blue Marine Algae Intense Hydrating Mask ($52)

I have been using this mask for about two years now. I tend to use it during the transition between seasons when my skin gets most dry – it immediately nourishes and hydrates my skin with a tingling sensation. I absolutely love this mask!

Origins Drunk Up Intensive Overnight Mask ($27)

I’m a huge fan of throwing in overnight masks into my nighttime skincare routine. If I’m ever feeling really dry I love to apply this mask once I apply my serums/oils to my skin! I always wake up feeling much more moisturized and glowy!

Avene Soothing Moisture Mask ($26)

My dermatologist introduced me to Avéne products about a year ago and this is by far one of my favorites. It’s the perfect hydrating mask if you ever struggle with redness and flakiness on the skin!

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask ($24)

For those of you with sensitive, dry skin, this mask’s for you! It deeply hydrates without being too intense. It leaves you flakey and redness free!

Dull, Aging Skin

Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Mask ($68)

This mask targets dullness, uneven skin texture, AND fine lines/wrinkles! It contains two types of vitamin C that’ll leave your skin glowing and smooth. Definitely one of my favorites this summer (and it’s bright purple!).

Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Gel Mask ($27.10)

When I went to London, I picked up this mask alongside many more Elemis products in a pharmacy. This mask truly is amazing. The texture and overall complexion of my skin transformed! All of the rough texture and fine lines thoroughly minimized after one use. Yes, ONE USE! I highly recommend!

Shiseido Ibuki Beauty Sleeping Mask ($40)

This mask is another amazing overnight mask. Every time I use this I wake up feeling glowy and radiant! It brings life to my skin like no other overnight mask does.

Caudalie Instant Detox Mask ($39)

My friend bought this product while we were in London and raved about it so I decided to buy it too – and seriously I am so pleased I did. My pores were noticeably clearer and minimized after using it regularly (twice a week for two weeks)!

Eminence Hungarian Herbal Mud Treatment ($37.46)

Éminence is by far one of my favorite all organic skincare brands, and yet this product still fully exceeded my expectations. The buildup in my pores completely was swept away and my skin felt soooo smooth – so happy I tried it!

Peach + Lily Caolion Pore Original Pack ($20)

I cannot boast about this product enough. It truly does clear out, minimize, and smooth your pores after one use. It’s just another Korean product I’ve added to my skincare must-haves!
